REFLEKSI TEOLOGIS-HISTORIS TEORI KENOSIS

Andreas Sudjono

Abstract

Theological discussion of kenosis is oftenly occurred among theologians. However, the bible fact stated that He never consider equality with God something to be grasped.

The question is: what was Christ emptying of Him-self, has perplexed theologians along centuries. Therefore, a statement: He emptied Himself from “God’s very nature” is appropriate. It means, He put off the glory of God’s form, and being made in servant likeness, a lowest human state.

In His kenosis, Jesus took human likeness, and perfectly becoming human. This expressed His human likeness, but not to be required a perfect congeniality to human. Considering a fact that Jesus Christ, although  He is a real human, not same to everyone, because He is not sinned. So that a statement “to take” is contrast with verse 6. However He is God in eternally, in the same time He is human.

The absolute dualistic theory explains that Jesus put off His Most Power when becoming human. The Absolute Metamorphe engages that Jesus’ divine was put off when incarnating human and got it back gradually whes He was 12 years old. The absolute semi metamorphic type asserts that Jesus’ divine was subtly altered in order to be seemingly human. The real but relative type viewed that Jesus was really God, but some substances were reduced.

So, Jesus is real God and Human. In His kenosis, both humanitiy and Godly substances were mixed, and none of those substances were reduced.
